This poster was pasted up at Taylor Square. It's your classic 'Lost Cat' poster, except the choice of pet photography is rather interesting. Someone suggested the cat wouldn't be hard to find with its 'demonic' eyes. Has anyone seen this flashlight-eye feline?
PS. In a bid to explore new blogging frontiers, I'm writing this post on that new whiz-bang mobile phone technology, which may also add a certain weird quality to the format. Basically, it won't allow me to put the pic at the top of the post! Any hints?
Darlinghurst, light of my life, fire of my loins. My sin, my soul. Dar-ling-hurst: the tip of the tongue taking a trip of three steps down the palate to tap, at three, on the teeth. Dar. Ling. Hurst.

Darlinghurst Blog: Lost and Found: Lost Tot
"LOST. Have you seen my cat, Tot? He was last seen in front of my home in Berwick Lane, Darlinghurst, 11am, Sunday the 23rd of December 2012.
"He is grey all over with a white chest and socks. Needs medication as he is 19-years-old.
"Wasn't wearing collar as he is an indoor cat.
"REWARD if returned. Please call if you have seen Tot.
"Dearly missed and fretted after. Owner heartbroken. Call 0405 178 509."
Oh, poor Tot. And poor Tot's owner. I feel so sorry for them. I would be devastated if Ralf ever disappeared. Please keep an eye out for Tot!

Darlinghurst Blog: Lost and Found: Two Gold Sovereigns
Genuine Reward. Two gold sovereigns given by a dying man to his wife.
No questions asked.
This pink flier was taped to a number of telegraph poles on Liverpool Street yesterday and is so, so sad.
Apparently the woman who taped them up, parked her car outside the Sacred Heart Hospice on Darlinghurst Road on Friday night.
She was inside visiting her dying husband.
When she returned to her car, it had been broken into and the thieves had taken her handbag from the boot.
Inside her handbag were the two gold sovereigns, which her husband had given her.
I hope her luck takes a better turn soon.

Darlinghurst Blog: Lost and Found: Sea Urchin Ring
"Lost: Silver 'Sea Urchin' Ring. Engraved on band: Xmas 09 Woz. Huge sentimental value. If found please contact very sad owner: 0439 110 740. Reward."
These fliers sprung up overnight on telegraph poles around Darlinghurst. I'm not sure what a sea urchin ring looks like, but if you happen to find one . . .

Darlinghurst Blog: Lost and Found: Michael the Cockatiel
"Michael, a loved and much missed cockatiel has gone missing in the Darlinghurst area. He is very tame and friendly. Please call 0434 934 870 if you find him.''
I have to say I am rather intrigued by the case of this missing bird. Firstly, how did he become lost? Did he break out of his cage? But more importantly, why is he called Michael? It's such a strange name for a cockatiel. Anyway, if you happen to spot him around the hood, hanging out at the Kings Cross Hotel say, going for a bite at Strawberry Cream, or chewing on a building on Greenknowe Avenue, please call the number above. But if I was a bird in Darlinghurst, I'd probably hang out on the top of St John's.

Darlinghurst: Lost and Found: George the Staffy
Have you seen George?
(He was taken by a tall white skinhead)
Please call 0409 982 048
$2000 Reward Offered
George was tied up to a pole on the corner of Darlinghurst and Bayswater roads about 5pm on Friday while his owner, Nahji Chu - the owner of Miss Chu - was inside a shop. When she returned, George was gone.
He was last seen being led by a tall, white skinhead down William Street.
Nahji is offering a $2000 reward for George's safe return and has plastered the neighbourhood's telegraph poles with fliers and set up this Facebook page in a bid to find him.
*
CORRECTION: It was Nahji's friend who left him tied to the pole. Meanwhile Nahji has enlisted a psychic in the search for George, while a rescue party is meeting at Miss Chu's on Bourke Street tomorrow morning to walk the streets in a bid to sniff out the staffy.

Darlinghurst Blog: Lost and Found: Missing Ripstick
I'm well versed in lipstick, but had never heard of a Ripstick until I spotted this missing poster on a few telegraph poles in the area. So as part of My Darling Darlinghurst's service to the community, I am posting a photograph here for the sake of the poor nine-year-old who lost their birthday present. They say they lost it on Darlinghurst Road, but they actually mean Victoria Street:
''Have you seen my Ripstick? Left on Darlinghurst Road, Thursday night, 12 May, about 7.30, between Mad (Pizza) and Mu (hair salon). It was my 9th birthday present and I'd really appreciate getting it back. Please call: 0425 810 340 (or) 0412 360 960.
''Robbo, of Elizabeth Bay, someone said they'd given it to you? Please call.''

Darlinghurst: Lost and Found: Missing Pixel
Oh, no! A missing cat.
''Have you seen Pixel?
Pixel is a beautiful 10-year-old tabby cat missing from the Darlo area for a week.
He is a little shy but very vocal, and may be under your house or hanging in your garden.
Pixel isn't wearing a collar, but he is micro-chipped and well cared for.
If you have seen Pixel please call Kat on 0425 768 827.
Thanks, I really miss him.''
This sad poster was taped to a telegraph pole on Craigend Street yesterday. Poor little Pixel. He is so cute. I wonder where he is? I hope he is just having a short adventure and returns home soon. If you live in Darlinghurst, please keep an eye out for him.
